大道因静而得,因此我们习练太极拳要以清static 为本,只有在非性的基础上,我们才能真正体悟到轻灵natural “dynamic”的价值,即所谓“dynamic returns to static, and extreme dynamic is achieved through the union of yin and yang within Tai Chi.”

前辈和兆元提出的lightness 和 balance are actually the same as what Wang Zongyue said in his “Thirteen Postures Explanation,” that one should stand upright with a sense of stability and comfort, supporting all eight directions. The phrase “heart like water at the hundred meetings suspended” in the Zhao Bao Tai Chi manual is also mentioned by Wang Zongyue as "spirit able to be raised without any delay or heaviness."

The heart must be like water at the hundred meetings suspended. What are these hundred meetings? They refer to a specific acupoint on the head called Baihui Point, which is located at the center of the top of the head. This point belongs to acupuncture theory's twelve main meridians and eight extraordinary meridians' governing vessel channel.

Baihui Point is an important junction for all yang channels; it represents a critical point where qi gathers during meditation practice. In our practice of Tai Chi, we pay special attention to having this point suspended. We require that Baihui Point always points vertically toward Yinjiao (a point between urethra and anus), forming a straight line with it while keeping Yinjiao steady.

In other words, we want our body posture to resemble an arrow shot from a bow: Baihui Point would be similar to its tip while Yinjiao would correspondingly represent its tail end, connected by an invisible string representing continuous flow between them. The backbone then becomes equivalent to this imaginary bow's back part consisting of neck vertebrae, thoracic spine vertebrae, lumbar spine vertebrae, sacrum bone or coccyx bone respectively.

This forms one out of five arches in human anatomy known as "five bows." Many schools within Tai Chi believe that only when Baihui Point can maintain suspension does one enter into initial levels characterized by "qi adhering along spine" or "force originating from spine."

To illustrate how "suspension" works effectively in mastering movements during training sessions with students who seek perfection through their stance postures—just imagine placing large bowls filled with clear water on their heads inside small inner compartments designed specifically for such purposes during lessons conducted under close supervision—ensuring not even single drop falls down upon completion has been accomplished successfully!
